Vision

The shared vision of the Water Info Hub is equality of access to data and tools for the water environment. The aim is to create a long-lasting, sustainable resource that grows over time, providing decision makers with the data and insights necessary to make better decisions while giving citizens access to the same knowledge.

Who and why?

Data and models are difficult to obtain and you cannot take informed action until you have evidence.

The Water Info Hub is a place for people to come together to share concerns, knowledge and solutions to make water in our cities more sustainable. It is not a company, university, regulator or community group.

Background

In 2019, a five-year programme called Community Water Management for a Liveable London (CAMELLIA) started, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), with the goal of developing solutions for managing water in the environment in the face of expected population growth in London.

From the outset, collaborators recognised that open source data and tools are fundamental to facilitate the analysis and understanding of the environment.

This collaborative approach makes resources available to those with interest in the water environment in London and surrounds.

The knowledge gathered and created during CAMELLIA can be applied to other urban areas and will remain relevant long after the five-year programme ends.
